About
Peter — Micron Monster
Micron Monster is a small, independent site about one thing: getting miniatures off a resin printer and onto the painting desk, with as little wasted time and money along the way as possible. Everything here is written by one person, from the hobby, for the hobby.
My name is Peter Thuborg. I have been painting miniatures for 27 years, which is long enough to have lived through several technological eras of the hobby. I started writing about it online in 2018. Micron Monster exists because affordable, reliable resin printers turned into a second hobby of their own and the gap in good beginner guidance was obvious.

This site is
- An editorial reference for resin printing miniatures
- Honest opinions on printers and resins used or researched in depth
- British English, US dollar prices, no contractions
- One person writing from one hobby for one audience
This site is not
- A general 3D printing news site
- Sponsored content or paid placement
- A paint and finishing guide (that is Age of Miniatures)
- Written by a team, an agency, or a content farm
Real prints, real failures
Every printer on the buying guide has been on a desk here before it appears on the site. Failures get written up, not quietly dropped. The honest verdict matters more than the warm relationship with a manufacturer.
No invented numbers
If a figure appears on this site it comes from a manufacturer spec, a direct measurement, or a public price at a named retailer. Nothing is rounded up to look better. If a number is not verifiable, it does not appear.
No sponsorships that change the verdict
Manufacturers occasionally send review units. That is disclosed when it happens. It never changes the conclusion. A printer disliked on the bench gets a clear dislike on the page, regardless of who paid for postage.

Affiliate links and review units
Some links on this site are affiliate links. When someone buys through one, the site earns a small commission at no extra cost to the reader. Affiliate links are marked with a superscript aff in the body copy. The ranking of picks on buying guides is identical whether a link earns a commission or not. Full details are on the affiliate disclosure page.
Manufacturers occasionally send review units. When that happens it is stated explicitly in the review. A free unit never changes the verdict. The review copy policy is explained in full on the review copy policy page.
